Product Description
The Audio Technica AT-LP120 USB features a high-torque direct-drive motor for quick start-ups and a selectable internal stereo phono pre-amplifier that allows the turntable to plug directly to computers and other components with no dedicated turntable input. With a dedicated USB output, interfacing with your computer has never been easier. This is the all-in-one solutions for archiving or transferring your LP collection directly to your computer. Other key features include: forward and reverse play capability; cast aluminum platter with slip mat and a start/stop button with remote start/stop input; three speeds 33/45/78; selectable high-accuracy quartz-controlled pitch lock and pitch change slider control with +/-10% or +/-20% adjustment ranges; and removable hinged dust cover. A replaceable Audio-Technica ATP-2 cartridge is included.
If making high quality 24 bit FLAC vinyl rips is what you want to be doing, this turntable is more than respectable, and this is a pretty damn good deal on a new one (read as: why keep looking for a used record player on craigslist when this fine turntable is available at a price like this?).
If you're into doing, you know, other stuff with your turntable, check this review:
"I've had one for several months now and I just gotta say, its solid. I started DJing about a year ago and this is a great turntable to learn to scratch on. Any review that features a DJ that grew up on Technics 1200s all say its pretty close to the real thing. Very solid platter to scratch on, high torque motor. The thing is definitely inspired by the Technics. On off switch, needle arm, buttons, are all the same. Plus some extras like quarts, reverse, and 78rpm.
If you got the money to drop on a pair of 1200s, go for it. If not, you can get a pair of these AND a mixer for around $500. Not to shabby at all. My plan is to learn up on true vinyl and DVS. Midi is great, but...I like returning to the roots of DJ'ing."
